Love

Love is something that many people find very hard to describe.

Dictionary.com has these descriptions for love:
  • profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person
  • feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend
  • Sexual passion or desire

But that is not quite how the attribute should be interpreted.

Fruit of the Spirit > Love > Unconditional Love.

That's right. Unconditional. Meaning unaffected by anything & is forever.

The "Love" is something that is self-giving love that gives freely without asking anything in return. It is also something that you choose to do rather than something that just happens by chance.

Here's a way to look at it: God loves us that way. He chooses to love us and, like us, has the Fruit of the Spirit (well obviously because the Fruit comes from him). His Unconditional love for us is why he died to save us.

1 Corinthians 13: 4-8

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Introduction from me to you!

Galatians 5: 22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Hello readers!

At Carpenters Community Church, the youth were learning about the Fruit of the Spirit.

The term "fruit" does not mean those healthy, delicious things we love to eat and cover in chocolate. The "fruit" we were given are "attributes" to which characterize all who walk with the Holy Spirit.

We can't just pick and choose which part of the "Fruit" we use in everyday life. That's not the point. We have to take in all of the attributes and use them.

All these fruits are what all Christians should be producing within our new lives with Jesus.

(Thanks to Wikipedia for the help - I couldn't help it, Wikipedia is awesome!!!)

Right, now that we've established that... time to tell you what this blog will be about!!!

Over time videos will be added to the blog in dedication to each attribute along with various other bits in pieces.

I hope you enjoy :-)
